Bzzzzz!

I LOVE the fact that the Kopp family is now the proud owner of a beehive :)  Back in the winter Greg said he wanted to have bees and signed up for a beekeeping class in Fort Wayne.  In the class they taught some basics about beekeeping, how to look for diseases, and build your hive boxes.  It might just be me, but I think it's all really interesting.  I've actually learned quite a bit just from hearing Greg talk about them.

Anyway, so that was back in the winter, but now obviously it's pushing summer and Greg is officially a beekeeper!  About a month ago he received 3 lbs of bees (have no clue about how many that is, but it's a lot!) that he had ordered online in the mail.  A ton has happen since the first day so I'm going to post some pictures here, but if you're interested or have questions - Greg has started a website where he keeps some videos, blog, and will answer any questions you might have.

Trying on all his gear for the first time - doesn't even use the gloves now

How the bees came packaged
I just don't understand why they made us come pick them up instead of delivering . . . lol

This is how the frames start - it's crazy how quickly they build!

It's kind of like Where's Waldo, but instead Where's the Queen Bee :)
(She's the one with the white dot, and all the weirdo bees staring at her)

AWESOME!!!
